Multi Talent Programme for young people benefits communities
Multi Development Germany GmbH has won the first European Community Support Award from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation. This award was established to encourage and recognises outstanding community support by a shopping centre or shopping centre development or management company in Europe. “This award is recognition of Multi’s commitment to our principles of sustainable development, something we call the 5E’s” says Glenn Aaronson, CEO Multi Corporation. “Sustainable development is not simply about designing and constructing new or renovated buildings that are environmentally friendly, it is also about being a friend and good neighbor to the communities in which we do business.”
Multi Development Germany GmbH won for their community support campaign: the Multi Talent Programme, an initiative for unemployed young people between the ages of 16 and 20 years old, who for one reason or another did not pursue or complete further education. In less than a year’s time, these young people experience a combination of on-the-job training as well as classes in German, Mathematics and Social Behaviour. The programme has been very effective and has already had a positive impact on 70 young people in Duisburg and 200 young people in Dresden. Of the first class of 36 individuals who participated in Duisburg, 31 received the job that they were working toward.
Multi Development Germany GmbH was presented the award during the European Solal Marketing Awards Ceremony on June 12, 2008 in Prague, Czech Republic.
