MULTI VASTGOED AND VAN HOOGEVEST ONTWIKKELING HAVE CREATED A HIGH-PROFILE OFFICE BUILDING FOR AKZO NOBEL CHEMICALS

Akzo Nobel Chemicals opens its new office building ‘Brouwershof’ in Amersfoort

Akzo Nobel Chemicals is officially opening its new office building ‘Brouwershof’ today on Stationsstraat in Amersfoort. The area around the station in Amersfoort has undergone a metamorphosis over recent years. Various large companies such as Philips, Agis and Twynstra Gudde have established themselves in the business district, and now 400 Akzo Nobel Chemicals staff are doing the same. Brouwershof, which gets its name from the brewery that previously stood on the site, is just a stone’s throw from both the central station and Amersfoort city centre, and there are good connections to the through roads.

The new office of Akzo Nobel is an eleven-storey building of about 10,000mē with parking facilities. It is the central element defining the appearance of a new square, where an office space of about 4,500mē for the rental sector has also been built. The construction of a hotel with some 115 rooms will start in mid 2007. Developers MULTI and Van Hoogevest are close to reaching an agreement with a candidate for this. The use of brickwork for the outer walls and light-coloured natural stone has provided the complex in the office district of Amersfoort with distinctive and friendly features. Underneath the square is a twolevel car park for about 225 cars.

T+T Design, Multi Vastgoed’s in-house design office, drew up the draft plan for Brouwershof. Architects Van den Oever, Zaaijer and Partners created the design for the U-shaped office building. The owner of the premises is KFN.
