TOY GIANT BRINGS MAGIC TO VICTORIA SQUARE

Multi Development UK Ltd today announced yet another new name to join the retail line up at their £320 million Victoria Square development in Belfast’s city centre. London toy giant Hamleys has announced plans to expand its UK presence through a number of 6,000 sq ft concessions in House of Fraser stores. Hamleys will take 6,000 sq ft of space in Belfast in House of Fraser, which will anchor Victoria Square. The Hamleys at House of Fraser in Victoria Square will be its first store in Ireland.

The Hamleys concession in House of Fraser will carry a specially selected product range made up of Hamleys own brand and a range of other branded products. The Hamley’s Own collection, a branded range of toys and games will continue the tradition of the “finest toys in the world”.

Richard Green, Multi Development UK Leasing Manager commented on the news: "Hamleys flagship Regent Street store is a magical experience for families and with House of Fraser now providing the Hamleys offer, that magic will be available in Belfast in House of Fraser's massive department store in Victoria Square."

At the same time Multi announced that Tommy Hilfiger and Clockwork Orange are the latest brands to commit to the scheme, with many more waiting in the wings. Richard Green said: "We currently have a further 22 deals in solicitors' hands and negotiations are continuing on the remaining space. We are now under 12 months from opening and already we are seeing a real flurry of activity from new retailers to Belfast vying for the remaining units in Victoria Square."

Clockwork Orange and Tommy Hilfiger add to the tenant mix and will sit alongside H&M, Urban Outfitters, River Island, Coast, Virgin Megastores, Lunn’s, Goldsmiths and ODEON.

The central architectural feature of Victoria Square will be a huge glass 36m-diameter x 22m Dome, which will dominate Belfast's skyline. Its internal viewing gallery will provide dramatic panoramic views over Belfast and beyond. Construction of the Dome is well underway and is on schedule for completion by June. Also continuing apace is the fit out of the House of Fraser store.

Victoria Square will open on 6th March 2008.
